Spicy Fried Balut Sisig is a popular dish in the Philippines that combines the unique flavor of balut (a fertilized duck egg) with the spicy and savory taste of sisig.
To make this dish, the balut is first boiled and then deep-fried to give it a crispy texture. The yolk and the white of the egg are then finely chopped and mixed with chopped onion, chili, and other spices. The mixture is then fried with pork or chicken liver, giving it a rich and savory taste.
The dish is typically served with a side of steamed rice and is often garnished with a squeeze of lime juice and chopped chili to add a bit of extra heat. Some variations of the dish also include the addition of other ingredients like mayonnaise or cheese to give it a creamier texture.
One of the unique aspects of this dish is the use of balut, which is considered to be a delicacy in the Philippines. Balut is a fertilized duck egg that has been incubated for a period of time, allowing the embryo to develop before it is consumed. The texture and flavor of balut can be quite different from a regular duck egg and adds a unique twist to the dish.
Spicy Fried Balut Sisig is a popular street food in the Philippines and can be found at many food stands and markets. It’s also a common dish at Filipino gatherings and parties. If you’re looking for a unique and flavorful dish that combines the best of Filipino cuisine, give Spicy Fried Balut Sisig a try.
It is important to note that balut is a controversial food and is not considered suitable for everyone, as some people may find it inedible due to the developing embryo inside. It is also important to make sure that it is properly cooked to avoid any food-borne illness.
